  • What if I am not sure if my child has ASD?
    • There are many pathways to determine whether your child does or does not have ASD.  You could start with your GP, School Teacher, the School Support Teachers or Counsellors, a Speech Therapist, Psychologist or Occupational Therapist.  There are also various national hotlines for information, one of which is Autism Connect 1300 308 699.

  • I have a question about ASD/the NDIS/services. Do I need to book an appointment?
    • Not always.  Our friendly staff aim to help as many people as we can.  It is always best to call and ask.

  • My child has had previous assessments and/or reports done. Do I need to give them over?
    • When you first meet your clinician, they will wish to see all reports that you have that relate to your child.  This may take the form of previous assessments, school reports, counsellor reports, or other materials.   You should bring these documents when you meet your clinician.  Our Admin staff don’t need these materials to place you on the waitlist.

  • Do you have a waitlist for your services?
    • Unfortunately like many providers in the industry, our services are subject to a waitlist.

Our waitlist is currently approximately 8 months long to see a clinician.  If you wish to join the waitlist, you can call our centre or go to the ‘Contact Us’ page of our website and fill in the Support Services Intake Form.  A clinician will then be in touch as soon as a spot becomes available.

  • Is there a waitlist for social groups?
    • Yes – however, this wait is reduced.

Our social groups run each school term, and our helpful group staff are always looking at the waitlist to add new people to the groups.  You can call our centre or email  Alternatively you can go to our ‘Contact Us’ page and complete our Support Services Intake Form.

  • Do you need to have NDIS funding to access these services?
    • No you do not.  The LPF is open to all kinds of funding – clinicians will discuss methods of payment in their first appointment with you.

  • Does your child have to have ASD to access these services?
    • The LPF is here to help any child that needs it.

Our clinicians are able to provide services tailored to any child.  They have a variety of experience with children of different cognitive abilities, as well as children with or without an ASD diagnosis.  Feel free to contact our Centre for clarification.
