Community Activities

Since inception, in addition to raising money towards the building and establishment of an Autism Early Intervention Centre of Excellence, the Foundation has helped numerous schools and centres, which cater for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), with funding for extra staffing, training, equipment and resources, including educational computer software.

Lapstone Preschool

In 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010, the Foundation provided funding to Lapstone Preschool, to enable them to employ 2 additional Support Workers, for their Early Development Program (EDP), which supports the inclusion of children with ASD and other special needs, into a regular early childhood setting and into their transition to school.

Community Funding

In 2008 and 2009, the Foundation offered Community Funding, to services in the community, which catered for children with ASD and other Special Needs.

Software for Schools and Centres

Thanks to a very generous donation of $7,000 from Sydney Water, the Luke Priddis Foundation was able to purchase “Boardmaker Plus” software packages for 14 Schools/Centres in Western Sydney, who run classes for and/or cater for children with Autism and other special needs.

“Boardmaker” software enables the user to create interactive symbol based communication and educational materials and is widely used among special educators and speech pathologists throughout Australia and overseas.
