About ASD

Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs) are developmental disabilities.

While there is no register for children diagnosed with ASD, studies show that 1 in 160 Australian children aged between 6 and 12 yrs have an Autism Spectrum Disorder. However, due to discrepancies in diagnosis, some researchers suggest this figure could be closer to 1 in 100.

While ASD is becoming better understood, the cause of ASD in Children is still unknown.

There is no cure for ASD, but early intervention education can dramatically improve the development of these children.

To increase Autism awareness in our community, the LPF promote family based activities such as the fitness for autism. This encourages people of all abilities to spend time together, exercising, engaging and networking. Join us on Sunday April 12 2015 or donate through everyday hero.
